Arriving

Registration begins 5 pm Thursday, May 22.

  • Look for the conference center driveway, which is before the main entry kiosk, turn left and drive to the end of the road.
  • Please register and pick up your parking pass and tent tag if you’re camping.
  • Unload your belongings then park your car in the conference center parking lot back down the driveway past the entrance.
  • Make sure your parking pass is visible. Lock your car and don’t leave valuables in it.

Sleeping Options

  • Tent: You can camp in your own tent. There are campsites along the creek; most spaces are upstream from the conference center. Tie the pink tag to your tent.
  • Sleeping deck: There is a covered sleeping deck along the side of the conference center where you can set up your pad and sleeping bag. Whether you sleep there or not, please walk quietly on the deck at night.
  • Dance floor: Inside sleeping is available on the dance floor after dancing quiets down.
  • Private room: Private rooms are available at the main resort. Make reservations separately with Harbin Reservations at 707 987 2477 or 800 622 2477 (within California).

Facilities

  • We gather in one large room for eating, dancing, and meeting. Please do not wear shoes on this floor and keep it clear of your personal belongings.
  • There is a pair of restrooms on each side of the conference center. On the pool side, one for women and one for men. On the kitchen side, the two restrooms and shower areas are usually coed. Lockers are available in these restrooms.
  • Keep your belongings either near your sleeping area, in one of the restrooms, or in the hallway cubbies on the deck.

Main Harbin Resort

Up the road from the conference center is the public area of the Harbin Resort, which you are welcome to visit and enjoy. Please do not bring any friends not registered at the jam onto the conference center grounds.

The quiet and restful hot springs area includes two warm pools, a swimming pool, a cold plunge, a very hot tub (114 degrees), and a sauna.

There is also a restaurant, café, library, movie theatre, food store, cooking kitchen, hiking trails, massage and body workers, and classes such as yoga.

Jam Schedule

  • Each day after breakfast and prior to open dancing we will have a one-hour warm up class.
  • On some days after lunch we will gather as a group to talk and share and organize our time together. The afternoons are sometimes open and sometimes scheduled with an activity someone wants to share. This might be bodywork, writing or drawing sessions, singing, movement class or lab, outdoor dance score, or whatever people want to share.
  • After dinner there is often a group score and/or performance and then open dancing. Sometimes there is live music, sometimes canned music, but more often than not we have no music.

Communication

There will be always be one organizer hosting each part of the day. Questions and concerns should be directed to the organizer who is on duty. Please check the posted schedules for information. If you have questions or needs regarding food please speak to the designated food liaison instead of the cooks (who ask that we stay out of the kitchen).

If you have additional questions before arriving at the jam please contact:

Safe travels - we will see you there!
